Donkey Rhubarb is an EP by electronic-music artist Aphex Twin, released in 1995 by Warp Records. This song was also used as the theme song for MTV UK's Pure Morning programming block.
"Icct Hedral", a track which originally appeared on …I Care Because You Do, was orchestrated by Philip Glass on this release.
The music video for the eponymous track was directed by David Slade. It was shot in various parts of London (with views of the skyline of the Canary Wharf district) and features Care Bear-esque creatures with the oil painting of Richard D. James (found on the album cover of …I Care Because You Do) on their faces (a portion of the same portrait appears on this EP's cover). The Rhubears, as James calls them, dance and frolic in the presence of children, but when by themselves they also display aggressive and obscene behaviour. For some time after the release of this single, the Rhubears were present at Aphex Twin's live shows. James has also admitted to having his friends dress up as them to terrorise line-ups outside of clubs.
